I just wrote separate posts about the first three days of the Date with Destiny event. Then I did not have time to write anything because, was not waking up early enough to write anything. So this post will just be a summary of how I have seen the event.

I had a really good time and learned a lot about myself. I won’t write a long rapport about the event instead I created a small video in Washington Airport.

Now it is just to figure out how to use it in real life.

The only thing I did not like about the event was that the schedule was never correct. If the meeting time was at some point, the event started at least 15 minutes later. That just meant more time for connecting with others.

We did have a blessing session. It was a really spiritual session where we got affected by some old energy.

Then the plan was to do some work with our values, but we ended up talking about relationships which is the purpose of the four the day session.

The only irritating thing about the event was the timing you expect things to start on time. But guess you just have to live with not knowing when things stats.

We did have time for a dinner break, it was nice to be together in the room and create a fast and healthy meal.

So day was the big day with Date with Destiny. First of I started the day with a run around the golf course go get an hour of power. The surroundings was astonishing and I did pretty well with the running.

We got to the conference center at 10am, and had heard the previous day that the event would start at 10.30am. When we got there we found that the start had been postponed to 11.30am. The weather outside was nice so, I was able meet with somebody outside.

At the event I was able to get some nice seats on 4 row, so I was able to follow pretty close in the stage. So I got a got view of Tony Robbins.

This first day contained a lot of the elements from Unleash the Power Within(UPW), that I was on in October. It was explained a bit different and had some different stories but the basis was what we learned last time. I thought think that it was great to be reminded of what was going on and get back into the emotional stage from then.

I’m looking forward to learn more about how I can use the information to change my life. I’m looking forward to spend time with the coaches tomorrow.

Monday was the day before Date With Destiny (DWD). I said goodbye to Sean when he got to work for the day.
Then I worked on creating some of the ideas that I had on my todo list. I was productive enough to be to make make the new design on masteringwave work. That was pretty nice to be able accomplish that.
I also got time to fired one emploey, how had not worked as much as I had expected. It was a bit difficult to communicate with him and get him to work on the right projects and the correct pace.
I talked with MenInBlue about a PI consulting job, and it seems like I could get the job. So that would be nice to get 3½ month of extra payment. That would mean that I have something to do for the next long time. And that Figaf can be successfull.

The I took the taxi to meet the others and settle in. It was really nice to meet everyone else at the room. There are plenty space for all of us and they are all nice. We went shopping in the health food store and got some cool food, what we cooked together. We had a problem that it was not everyone how was at the place so we did not meet well.

Luca and Aron meet some girls that came over. So already on the first day did we get visitors nice. It was fun to talk with them and hear what they had to say.

It seems like many had a problem with the money and had found that it was too expensive and had second thoughts on getting to Date with Destiny after they purchased the tickets. It does not seems right that people are caught into being hire. But once the money was paid they where quite excited about getting the job done.

I’m really looking forward to the day and figuring out what I can do and what we need to learn.
I did a small video of the dinner.

I’m creating a small video diary about what I have experienced. I hope you find it interesting.

The first video was shot on the way from Home to the airport.

Ok I need to work on my videoing and editing skills. But the Atom processer is not made for editing videos.

I always want to improve myself and become better at producing results. I have listen to the audio program Getting Things Done (GTD) by Tim Allen and read the book Making it All work. It is always really interesting to be inspired to organize my life and become more effective and efficient with my projects.

I have been using Nozbe.com to organize my life. Nozbe is a Web interface to implement GTD with software. It is really easy to start to use, it is more the mechanics of Nozbe also have an Iphone app which makes it possible to get the information when you are offline. I have not been able to implement the change in my life really. I was also on a course by personligworkflow, how teaches the GTD method and help people and organizations implement it.

The implementation of GTD is a bit complex and you probably need coaching. The basis is really simple and easy to understand, but once you get to figure out to apply the mechanics is difficult. I have never been able to focus on using GTD for a long time.

As a part of a Business Mastery program with Tony Robbins, I got the program The Time of your Life. In this program the focus is on creating a Results Focused Purpose Driven, Massive Action Plan (RPM). I have just listened to the program as is really eager to get it rolling and use the program. I will update with a new post, when I have used RPM for a while.

Both methods has the following similarities

Have a weekly planning process, where you are looking for what to do in the next program.

The both have a capturing phase, where you find ideas on how to process with the idea.

Work on multiply levels from daily, weekly and more global ideas.

What I like from GTD is:

The concept with the inbox, where all the thought you are getting is stored and you can process it when you have time. A great tool for capturing.

The concept of context, where you only focus on what you can do when you are at you computer or telephone.

I have an idea that GTD is really well implemented in Silicon Valley, so there are a host of programs/services which support the process. I like the idea of having multiply vendors to choose from, because you get a better choose. I don’t like to carry to much stuff around so I would like an electronic system that can run on my phone.

GTD has multiply levels of project you are creating. It focuses on 10.000, 20.000, 30.000 and 40.000 feet. 10.000 is project you have to implement today, while the 40.000 is on your life purpose. RPM also have a similarly grouping.

The 2 minute rule, where you work on an interruption if it takes less than 2 minutes. Could vary dependant on your state/situation.

The key concepts that I really like from the RPM

Tony Robbins’s amazing way he is presenting and telling stories. It is really compelling. It is a long series with 10 days and 17 CD so it is something which takes lots of time. I think the GTD was just 6 CD’s. So it has to be really good to be used.

RPM focus on you vision/roles/purpose and then based on that figuring out what is most important to work with for the current day. GTD makes you focus on organizing your current life and when you have figured that out you will be able to work on a higher level.

When you are planning you try to capture the task you have for the day into groups. Those groups could be similarly to GTDs projects. But you instead of a project you create a Result/outcome for the group. It makes it a bit more interesting to work on “creating the perfect body” then just work out. This makes the projects a bit juicier. It might take some more time but it makes you wanting to work on the task.

I like different tools describe in the process like the stacking of emotions or the ideas on how you can create your visions and driving forces. The exercises are useful and it seems like something you can implement after a while.

Improvements on the RPM program

I think it is a bit too much focus on selling Robbins products. I would though not have tried to use the program, if it was not for the sales pitches in other programs.

You spend a lot of time on the CDs, but you can do a lot of other things while you are listing.

There are a lot of stories/ideas that I already had heard on other programs. Initial it is irritating but once you appreciate to get the other tools refreshed it works good.

Why not deliverer the program as a MP3 on a CD. The only place it makes sense to use a CD is in the car. I decided to rip the CD and copy it to my Ipod, so I could listen to the program when I was doing something else. It would be much easier just to download the files.

I have not looked at what kids of gadgets/software/tools are availed for the program except that I know that Robbins has a paper based planer and some software.

This weekend I was fortune enough to be able to go to Tony Robbins seminar “Unleash the Power Within” in Chicago. We were 2900 attending the seminar. It was a fantastic course with a lot of real interesting tools and ideas for creating an outstanding life. It will defiantly go in to the history as one of my best weekends.

The 2900 attendees at UPW

The first night we had the firewalk, where we walked on hot coals. We had to get into out state and learn to focus our minds on the outcome. The experience was very intense and showed what was possible with focus. Walking on 650-1000 degrees (1200-2000F) hot wood does not sound like something you would like to do for fun. But it was not any problem once we got started with walking.

Just after the fire walk, checking for burns.

We learned a whole bunch of useful tools, than which can be applied to everyday life to be better. This was what I had expected. I had thought that we will learn many more and then try to use the tools to work on creating our goals.

It was some really long days we had. I cannot imagine how it was possible to have such long sessions, with tools without many breaks. There was only a 1 hour lunch break to get something to eat, so it was not like you had breaks every hour. Instead we got up and danced or massaged the persons on our sides every half hour. This was a good way to keep the focus and being much more able to learn. I hope it would be possible on other conferences.

There was a lot of dancing to music, lots of screaming, clapping. It was like a rock concert and it helped lift the voice in the room to extreme levels. Probably the high excitement levels were most different was all and made it easier to learn. Imagine if this was possible in the schools.

Some of the guided sessions were very strong emotionally. It is not every day that I cry of happiness and sadness with short periods between. Just because I’m thinking about will/can happen.

I’m really amazed by how much Tony Robbins is cable of doing on the stage. He was on for 15 hours on Saturday with full energy the whole time. Everyone else had to take breaks during the sessions but he just keep going. Tony was having some problems with his voice and could not run the show for the whole weekend any more. Instead Joseph McClendon III was presenting on two days. Joseph did an outstanding job and was really funny, but he was not as a intense as Tony.

The only thing that I did not like was the all the focus on selling. A lot of products was sold and marketed on the event and with the strong feelings it was difficult to say no. It was really compelling to continue the journey. I sign up for some extra courses, which I hope will be just as intense.

Now I just have to see if the principles we have learned sticks with med. That is the ultimate test that it works. I believe, I need to go thru all my notes and work books again to remember it all that will be one task in the coming week.

I’m really glad I did go to the event, and would strongly recommend others to go and check UPW out. I cannot say it will change my life yet, but it defiantly has the potential to do it. I hope to keep updating the blog with some of the changes that I have applied from the course that have worked.

I’m currently sitting in an SAS Airbus 340-300 from Copenhagen to Washington. The flight does not have any wireless connection, so this will be posted when I got myself an internet connection. There are 7 SAS planes ever made and this one seems fairly new.

First and foremost, the most important thing about the flight iwas the adequate room for the legs. I’m 183cm and do have around 10 cm extra for my knees. Well, the seats are also very supportive and the neck rest can slide up to support higher persons. I can sit comfortably without disturbing the women on my side.

The flight has an entertainment system in all seats. It has a touch-screen and a joy-pad looking controller. The flight is really nice, because you can sit and relax, watch a movie and select your favorite. There are 23 different new movies in the selection. The two latest movies available are the Angels and Demons and The Terminator Salvation, with some fairly new DVDs. It is really neat since you can catch up on your movies. The problem is that the movies are played in one large loop, that makes it not possible to see when the movies are starting. Since they are new movies I don’t know when they actually start, so I would have to watch the most part of the movie to find out when it is starting over. I think it is better to have an indicator on how long the movie has when I select a movie and the time left in a movie when it is being watched.

The touch-screen reacts a little slow to events and the controller is a bit difficult to get started with.

I have been listening to one of the audio streams, and it seems like the audio stops at certain moments. It is really disturbing to listen and it cuts for a second and then resume. So it is really not useful.

The games available are from 2008. I tried playing Sudoku. It was ok to play, and could help to solve the puzzle with pencil markings. I would like paper and pencil for solving Sudoku. The controller was not easy to use and it missed a numerical keyboard for the Sudoku game. I could just imagine how it would be if it was possible to bundle a Wifi into the onboard gaming systems. But since it is an airplane the software probably have to comply with some tough testing rules, compared to other games.

I would defiantly like to fly with this plane again. It has all the comfort I need.
